Marineland Marina Open Again

by on Mar.23, 2012, under Boats, Marinas

Many years ago, it was always fun to take a day trip on the water to Marineland and stop at the marina.  They closed the marina when the town went bankrupt and there didn’t seem to be any hurry to re-open the marina.

Welcome to Marineland

In fact, they made everyone leave and pretty much tore the marina down.  Imagine my surprise, when driving by today, we see boats and what looks like a marina.  You know that Fast Freddy can’t pass up a marina ( I even found one in the desert in Arizona, much to my wife’s chagrin) so I turned around and checked it out.  They have rebuilt the marina and everything is brand new.

This boat just left and is already on the intra-coastal

This boat just left and is already on the intra-coastal

Nice slips and right on the Intra-coastal.  I decided to go in and check out the prices and the amenities.  Well, the prices are great at $8.00 per foot and as for the amenities, well you have Marineland and the ocean right across the street.  You also have ecotours in kayaks on site.  I talked with Chris the dockmaster, and he explained they were new and looking for boaters to ‘come on down’.

Nice large basin for maneuvering

People were getting ready to do the Eco Tour and there was alot of activity.  We definitely plan to go back and am considering getting a slip there.  Its worth the trip to check it out and its also a nice place to stop on your way North or South.

I imagine the ecotours in this part of the intra-coastal would be fabulous

Stop by and tell Chris you saw it on Mermaids and Tales.

The following is the information on the marina:

Location: Across from Marineland on A1A south of Matanzas Inlet.

Thank you Chris for bringing back one of our favorite spots.

Photo Shoot on the 42′ Sea Ray

by on Mar.21, 2012, under Boats, Mermaids

We took the mermaids and spent the day on a beautiful 42′ Sea Ray. The sky was so blue it was intoxicating. The shot lasted longer than we had planned but everyone had fun and we got a chance to show off this great yacht. Normally, I pick pictures that show off areas of the yacht and have some descriptive remark about the picture. This time I am doing something different. The Photo/video shoot went so well and I had so much fun, I decided to just show a gallery of the best pictures for your enjoyment.

I want to give special thanks to the 3 best mermaids/models I have worked with: Dana, Katrina and Sam, thanks for making this so enjoyable.

The video of the Photo Shoot on the Huckins Yacht ends with talking about the ‘money shot’.  Well what follows is the ‘money shot’ and I think it shows The mermaids at their best. Don’t forget to check out Mermaids and Tales Tv by clicking this link.

Thank you, mermaids, for a fantastic shoot.

Photo Shoot of 53′ Huckins Motor Yacht.

by on Mar.10, 2012, under FeelGood Girls, Mermaids, Uncategorized

Our featured boat today is a 53′ fully restored 1966 Huckins Motor Yacht. This is an absolutely beautiful yacht and it shows it. We had Dana, Katrina and Samantha as the mermaids on this shoot. The interesting part was it was 57 degrees when we were shooting this and the mermaids really came thru with their best under difficult circumstances. Dick Rogers is the broker for this yacht and he went out of his way to make this a successful shoot.

I have the hardest job in the world.

We really appreciate Dick coming out on a Sunday to get everything ready for us. We Especially want to thank our photographers, Matthew Altenbach and George Ephrem. You have seen their pictures on M and T in the past and now you can see both of their works. The pictures that Matthew took will have an MA in the description and for George it will be a GE. The yacht ‘Faith’ is completely restored and, you can tell from the shine on the boat in the pictures, that it is well maintained. This is a 2 stateroom yacht with a good size master stateroom and lots of room throughout the yacht. You can get information about this yacht by calling Dick at 904-389-1125 or by electing ‘contact us’ from the menu. So now its time to see the yacht and let the mermaids do their stuff.

Check out the video of this shoot at Mermaids and Tales Tv and see how the shoot was made. Enjoy.

Welcome Back George

by on Mar.07, 2012, under Mermaids, Uncategorized

When we first started Mermaids and Tales, we ran into George Ephrem at the boat show where he helped us at a photo shoot 4 years ago. He was just recently re-introduced to us and will be joining us as a photographer. He has been doing this for over 20 years and has worked for a number of magazines. You can see some of his work in our next model shoot.

Welcome to the Family, George
